Nigerian singer David Adeleke, popularly called Davido, has publicly challenged the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to complete the upload of results from the Osun State governorship election, saying any further delay could allow manipulation.
By 10:26 p.m., data on INEC’s Result Viewing Portal showed 3,292 of the 3,763 expected polling unit results had been uploaded, representing 87.48 percent of the total. The most recent upload was recorded at 8:48:08 p.m., leaving 471 results still outstanding.
Davido, who has been vocal throughout the election process, used his verified X account to repeat his demand for the commission to publish the outstanding results. “Update the rest of the results,” he wrote, tagging INEC’s official handle.
In a separate post, the musician stated: “Yo @inecnigeria INEC, DELAY only means one thing: Buying time for Manipulation, while our Tech Team have the 470 Polling Units covered. We expect you to do the right thing and have those sheets up in less 30mins.”
Earlier in the day, Davido had questioned the absence of results on the portal. “INEC, it is now 2:33 p.m., yet no result has been uploaded to the IReV portal. What is the delay? Nigerians deserve transparency and timely updates,” he wrote.
He also urged voters to stay at their polling units until their results were uploaded and to confirm the figures entered on the electronic EC8A form. “Make sure your polling unit results are uploaded on IReV in your presence and make sure the figures are entered on eEC8A (electronic EC8A). We will follow our votes bumper to bumper!” he said.
As of the latest check, 471 results remained unpublished on the IReV portal, leaving the state’s final tally incomplete.
