Ademola Adeleke, the incumbent governor of Osun State and Accord Party candidate, has taken an early lead in the governorship election after results from 15 of the state’s 30 local government areas were collated.
The partial results, representing half of the LGAs in the state, have placed Adeleke at the top of the early count. As the collation exercise continues, these initial figures give the governor an advantage in the contest.
With the remaining 15 LGAs still to be accounted for, the final outcome of the election is not yet certain. The results so far announced have been widely followed under the hashtag #OsunDecides2026, and attention now turns to the outstanding local government areas.
The coming hours will determine whether Adeleke can maintain his early lead as more results are collated from the remaining LGAs.
