A pug from South Korea named Jinny Lu has been crowned the winner of the World’s Ugliest Dog contest, which celebrated its 50th anniversary at the Sonoma County Fair in California.
The annual competition, held as part of the Sonoma County Fair, celebrates dogs that may not fit traditional standards of beauty. Organizers say the event encourages dog adoptions and highlights “the imperfections that make all dogs special.”
This year marked the 50th edition of the contest, a milestone for the beloved fair tradition. Jinny Lu, a pug hailing from South Korea, was named the winner of the 2026 contest.
The contest continues to remind audiences that every dog, regardless of appearance, deserves love and a forever home.
