Super Eagles defender Ryan Alebiosu has voiced clear frustration over a stoppage time penalty decision that cost Blackburn Rovers a win against Wolverhampton Wanderers in Friday’s Championship clash.
Blackburn were on course for a win when the controversial moment arrived deep into stoppage time. Alebiosu was penalised for a challenge, and the referee awarded a penalty to Wolverhampton Wanderers in the 93rd minute.
Raúl Jiménez converted from the spot to level the match at 2-2, denying Blackburn all three points. Alebiosu, however, maintained that the incident occurred outside the penalty area.
The Super Eagles defender expressed his frustration after the final whistle, insisting he was outside the box when the foul was called. His comments reflect the disappointment in the Blackburn camp following the late equaliser.
The result leaves Blackburn reflecting on a decision that prevented them from claiming a valuable home victory in the Championship.
