Rafiu Durosinmi continued his fine scoring run as Genk overturned a two-goal deficit to edge Westerlo 3-2 in a thrilling Belgian Pro League encounter on Saturday night.
Genk found themselves in an early hole at home, with Westerlo striking twice inside the opening 11 minutes. Dylan Ourega broke the deadlock in the seventh minute, and Matte Smets’ own goal four minutes later doubled the visitors’ advantage.
Durosinmi, who had scored in his previous outing, stepped up to convert a penalty three minutes before halftime, giving the hosts a lifeline. The momentum swung fully Genk’s way in the 43rd minute when Bryan Heynen equalized, sending the teams into the break level at 2-2.
The Nigerian forward was substituted in the 66th minute for Aaron Bibout, a change that proved decisive. Bibout netted the winner 11 minutes from time to complete a remarkable comeback and secure all three points for Genk.
The victory lifted Genk in the Belgian Pro League standings, while Durosinmi’s continued contributions underline his growing influence in the team’s attack.
