After reports surfaced about Sid Wilson’s exit, Slipknot have now confirmed that the DJ and keyboardist is no longer in the band.
In a statement that briefly appeared on the band’s website, Slipknot said the split was effective immediately. “Effective immediately, Slipknot will no longer be associated with Sid Wilson,” the statement read. “We wish him the best in his future endeavors.” The message was captured by Stereogum.
Wilson had been with Slipknot since 1998, a year before the group released their self-titled debut album in 1999. He served as the band’s DJ and keyboardist during his time with the group.
The brief announcement offered no additional details, ending with a note of goodwill toward Wilson.
