Jose Mourinho returns to Real Madrid tonight, beginning his second spell in charge with a La Liga trip to Espanyol. The Portuguese is back after 13 years away, following two consecutive seasons without a trophy.
Real Madrid have invested heavily in the transfer market this summer and will be expected to put up a stronger challenge in the title race. They start against an Espanyol side that opened their campaign with a 3-0 home victory over Levante last weekend, making this a tricky assignment for Mourinho.
The match kicks off at 8.30pm UK time and will be broadcast live on Disney+ in the United Kingdom and ESPN in the United States.
Mourinho’s latest chapter at Real Madrid begins in Catalonia, and the football world will be watching closely to see how his team responds.
