Inter Milan Complete £30m Signing of England’s Djed Spence from Tottenham

Inter Milan have completed the signing of England international Djed Spence from Tottenham Hotspur, handing the wing-back a five-year contract at San Siro. The Serie A champions announced the permanent transfer on Saturday, with the 26-year-old committing his future to the club until June 2031.

British media reported that Inter paid around £30 million ($40.59m) for the 26-year-old defender. In a club statement, Inter said: “The English wing-back, born in 2000, joins the Nerazzurri from Tottenham Hotspur on a permanent transfer; Spence has signed a contract with the club until 30 June 2031.”

Spence leaves North London after four years, having made 85 appearances and won the Europa League with Tottenham. Limited first-team opportunities at Spurs saw him spend loan periods at Rennes, Leeds United and Genoa before he eventually established himself in the side.

The England international was also part of Thomas Tuchel’s squad at the 2026 World Cup, making eight appearances including in England’s victory in the third-place playoff.

At Inter, Spence will link up with fellow England defender John Stones, who joined the Italian club on a two-year contract after leaving Manchester City. The move adds another English international to Inter’s squad.
