INEC Uploads Over 83% of Osun Election Results to IReV Portal

Nigeria’s electoral commission has published more than 83 per cent of polling unit results from Saturday’s Osun State governorship election on its online viewing platform, addressing earlier calls for transparency.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has so far uploaded 3,140 of the 3,763 results to the Result Viewing Portal, commonly known as IReV, according to data on the portal.

The uploads began shortly after Afrobeats singer David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, raised concerns on social media about the delay in posting results.

In a series of posts on his X account on Saturday, Davido questioned why no result had been uploaded to IReV as of 2:33 p.m.

“INEC, it is now 2:33 p.m., yet no result has been uploaded to the IReV portal. What is the delay? Nigerians deserve transparency and timely updates,” he wrote.

The musician also urged voters to remain at their polling units until officials uploaded their results to the portal.

“Make sure your polling unit results are uploaded on IReV in your presence and make sure the figures are entered on eEC8A (electronic EC8A). We will follow our votes bumper to bumper!” Davido said.

The IReV portal allows voters and other stakeholders to view polling unit results uploaded by INEC after voting and counting at the various polling units.

The IReV portal remains accessible to voters and observers as INEC continues the upload and collation process.
