Fans hoping for an Adam Driver-led ‘The Hunt for Ben Solo’ movie have received a discouraging update. Lucasfilm co-president Dave Filoni, speaking with Deadline at D23, offered a blunt response when asked about Kylo Ren’s possible return.
At D23, Deadline caught up with Filoni, who serves as co-president of Lucasfilm and co-writer and producer of ‘The Mandalorian and Grogu.’ When asked whether the studio would reconsider an Adam Driver-led ‘The Hunt for Ben Solo’ project, Filoni responded: ‘The Force is not with us…’
His comments come as ‘The Mandalorian and Grogu’ holds the title of the lowest-grossing live-action Star Wars film to date, with $345 million worldwide. The project, which would have reunited Driver with the role of Kylo Ren, remains a point of curiosity among fans.
Filoni did not provide further details on whether the film was ever in active development or if discussions had taken place. When pressed on the possibility of Kylo Ren’s return, his answer left little room for optimism.
For now, the fate of ‘The Hunt for Ben Solo’ appears sealed, at least in Filoni’s eyes. Star Wars fans may continue to hope, but the force, it seems, is not with this particular project.
