Lucasfilm used its D23 presentation to offer a first look at the next chapter of Ahsoka, while also giving attendees a brief glimpse of Ryan Gosling in the upcoming Star Wars: Starfighter film.
Season two of Star Wars: Ahsoka is still months away, but Lucasfilm offered a first look at D23. The company released the new season’s debut trailer ahead of its January 20th, 2027 premiere. The footage suggests a darker narrative steeped in witchcraft, with Grand Admiral Thrawn, marked by blue skin, red eyes, and an unnervingly calm presence, threatening to push the galaxy back into a devastating war after the Empire’s collapse.
Ryan Gosling also took the stage to promote Star Wars: Starfighter, the next theatrical installment in the franchise. However, the footage shown was limited to those attending the event, and Lucasfilm has not released the clip online. Though some purported leaks have surfaced on social media, their authenticity has yet to be confirmed. It probably won’t be long before the public gets a proper look, as Star Wars: Starfighter is scheduled to hit theaters on May 28th, 2027.
With the Ahsoka trailer now available and Starfighter footage still awaiting a public release, Lucasfilm has given fans a tantalizing preview of what lies ahead for the galaxy far, far away.
