Following repeated efforts to push back the deadline, Apple has finally put forward its fee plan for purchases completed via outbound links in iOS applications.
In a filing submitted Thursday to the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California, Apple said it would charge developers a 15% commission on purchases made through external links in standard apps. Developers who are part of special Apple programs would receive further reductions on that commission rate.
The filing covers purchases initiated via outbound links inside apps running on Apple’s iOS devices. Apple had attempted to delay the submission, but the court rejected those efforts, leading to Thursday’s proposal.
Apple’s proposed fee structure is now part of the court record in the Northern California case.
