In a significant breakthrough, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has successfully recovered substantial funds from oil firms.
The EFCC has announced the recovery of over N115 billion and $84 million in NDDC levies from oil companies. This milestone follows an investigation into the financial dealings of 43 companies, out of which 24 were found to be indebted to the commission.
Conversely, 19 other companies were given a clean bill of health after being cleared of any wrongdoing. The recovery is a major achievement for the EFCC, highlighting its commitment to tackling financial malpractice and ensuring accountability in the oil and gas sector.
The commission’s efforts to recover the NDDC levies are part of a broader strategy to address financial irregularities and promote transparency in the industry. By holding companies accountable for their financial obligations, the EFCC aims to create a more stable and equitable business environment.
The successful recovery of these funds demonstrates the EFCC’s dedication to its mission and its capacity to effect meaningful change in the financial sector.
