Latin Music Stars Unite for Colombia and Venezuela Earthquake Relief

The music industry is rallying around Colombia and Venezuela as they recover from devastating earthquakes, with top Latin music artists using their platforms to raise funds and awareness for relief efforts.

Following a 7.4-magnitude earthquake that struck Colombia’s Pacific Coast, killing at least 281 people and injuring over 3,900, artists such as Maluma, Karol G, Feid, and Carlos Vives are joining forces to support affected communities.

A benefit concert, Unidos Por Los Nuestros, will take place on August 16 at the Kaseya Center in Miami, featuring over 30 artists, including Marc Anthony, Jay Wheeler, and Luis Fonsi. The event aims to raise funds for key programs such as food assistance, health care, and infrastructure reconstruction.

Meanwhile, Karol G has launched an initiative to raise funds for people affected by the earthquakes in Venezuela and Colombia during her Viajando Por El Mundo Tropitour. A QR code displayed on concert screens invites fans to scan and donate, with Karol G’s nonprofit organization, the Con Cora Foundation, matching every contribution.

Other events and initiatives include a benefit concert in Medellín, Colombia, featuring Kapo, Pipe Bueno, and Juan Duque, as well as a marathon of interviews with comedian and actor Alejandro Riaño and Colombia’s biggest music stars. Nicky Jam has also launched the ‘Adopta Un Hogar’ initiative, a campaign supporting the reconstruction of homes in Colombia’s hardest-hit regions.

Morat is turning its six-concert Bogotá residency into an opportunity to support Colombia, with donation points available for fans and part of the proceeds going to UNICEF to rebuild schools in affected areas. La Magdalena Fest will also take place this weekend in Honda, Colombia, with collection points and proceeds from the festival’s official store going to communities impacted by the earthquake and wildfires.

As Colombia and Venezuela continue to recover from the devastating earthquakes, the music industry is playing a vital role in raising funds and awareness for relief efforts. With top Latin music artists using their platforms to make a difference, there is hope for a brighter future for those affected by the disasters.
